IF you know how much energy is burned by your body in one day, you will know how many calories needed to maintain, reduce, or increase body weight. Here’s a simple formula to start your energy balance equation.

First, your weight is timed with 11 (weight*11). The result is called basalt metabolic rate, which is the minimum amount of calories needed to keep your system running your life.

Next, determine your level of activity time ago a scar your metabolic rate with the appropriate percentage below. The result is extra calories you need for a single day.

The study was conducted by Dr. Anoop Shankar from the West Virginia School of Medicine in Morgantown.
